Avast Clear is a software uninstallation utility that completely removes certain avast! products. The program exists because of an issue that many antivirus programs have: they are very difficult to remove.
Using the program is not very difficult at all. You can select between the editions of avast! antivirus such as Avast Premier, Avast Free Antivirus, Avast Pro Antivirus, Avast Internet Security and Avast Business. To remove selected program, you should also select the directory in which the product has been installed which is usually somewhere in the “Program Files” directory.
Once all is in working order, hit the continue button and Avast Clean will remove traces of the Avast Antivirus product from the system.
How to uninstall Avast using Avast Clear (Avast Software Uninstall Utility):
1. Download avastclear.exe on your desktop
2. Start Windows in Safe Mode
3. Open (execute) the uninstall utility
4. If you installed Avast in a different folder than the default, browse for it. (Note: Be careful! The content of any folder you choose will be deleted!)
5. Click REMOVE
6. Restart your computer
What version of Windows can Avast Clear run on?
Avast Clear can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn’t be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit downloads.
